What a lovely compound on Cape Cod Bay with views of two light houses and Provincetown harbor (omg, I’ll take the unit on the wharf.)

Carnival Week theme is Summer of Love. The Women Innkeepers will have a float to celebrate twenty-five years.Peace, love and go-go boots !

I’ll say good-bye until the Fourth.

Love bites,

Bob

Spring is sprung, the grass is rise; now I wonder where the birdies is

Spring is sprung, the grass is rise; now I wonder where the birdies is. Actually, I know very well where the robins are. Ah yes, the tulips, too are budding and the Moors is coming alive after a long, cold winter. Around P'Town the sounds of spring- chirping birds in the morning, pounding hammers in daytime, and peeps in the night herald the change in season.

We open May 14 for Single Women's Weekend followed by Memorial Day. That's the start of a six month season of fun in the sun.

It looks like another great whale watching season. The Center for Coastal Studies in P'town reports thirty right whales and their calves identified between Race Point and Wood End Light Houses right in front of the salt marsh and dunes at Inn at The Moors. This is twenty per cent of the worlds population of these endangered mammals. The nutritious phytoplankton of Cape Cod Bay and the wonderful people who visit are responsible for this event. Bring binocculars!

I traveled this winter. Drove to Florida and back. I sit on the driver's lap the entire way; it's the only safe place in a car. Love the motel stops, but hate to get in the car again so every morning I hide. Moms had to use a golf club to route me from under the beds. Otherwise, I'm no trouble!

Really looking foreward to seeing my friends. You know who you are. A special hello to Gail and Pat, Anne and Mary Louise, the Murphys, David and Frank, Alex and Tom, and Rosemary in Jersey. Hi!!!

See you soon.

Love, BOB

Carnival Week !! Where has the summer gone.

Carnival Week !! Where has the summer gone. That's what New Englanders say every August when the sun sets earlier and the air is cooler at night. But, what a wonderful summer we have this year. Everyday the sun shines at least part of the day (only 3 rainy days all summer) and it was hot in June, July and August- so many beautiful beach days. The guests really enjoyed the whisper quiet AC.

Friends have been asking about writing back to my blog. After all, what is a blog- a one way conversation ? I get to write what I see, hear and feel at The Moors while making friends. Moms say opening up the web site for the whole world has ramifications and they want to think about it some more. I don't get to make the executive decisions around here so I'll have to live with it.

Sasha says she doesn't want to hear anymore of my bird hunting adventures. She is right. Since I've been watching the birds from the inside (no more freedom runs) , I've developed a sensitivity to them. I love the way they chirp, chirp, tweet , tweet singing to each other. Birds are animals, too.
Can you see that I'm a cat with a new attitude; my instinct to hunt is less compelling.

Speaking about those birds, they were so loud this week just before dawn that Moms woke up at 4:30 (even Jesse heard them and got up too early). Since I'm up all night, dawn is a time to play. As soon as Moms' eyes flap open I'm there with the crinkley paper ready to let the games begin. They make a ball with my trash collections and we play hockey, soccer, a little baseball. I rock !

After the games, I have a few crunchies, and it's off to my chair for naps. I'll be curled up in a sunny window watching you at the pool. Yes, I see you sprawled on a chaise lounge (looking gorgeous, might I add)

Are you feeling lucky? It is time for the free night raffle. Be sure to sign up.

Bye for now. See you in September.

Bob

Summertime and the living is easy.

July 4, 2008

Summertime and the living is easy. I spent a night out on the roof deck; it was so warm and wonderful. Of course, I sleep most of the day so the nights are my highlight. There are a lot of people like that, too. I watch them come home in the wee hours.

I love Independence Day--the hot dogs on the grill, fireworks, lots of people around. The heated pool at the inn is divine.

The new BBQ deck is big and beautiful. Just picture a wedding ceremony there with the backdrop of this vast landscape, Cape Cod
National Seashore moor, dunes, lighthouse and the bay. I'm such a romantic.

The blueberries wil be ripe in a couple weeks. Moms go to Beech Forest and fill coffee cans full of luscious, healthy berries. Yum !
Yum ! They are so good for the natural insulin in them. I'll keep you posted.

All for now. I hear the parade coming.

Love,
BOB

Memorial Day at The Inn

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vmpHBm0IXLA/SD4WVbryKTI/AAAAAAAAAAg/4cgGKEF7n4Q/s400/IMG_0144.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5205622776751335730" />

Cat's Eye View

Well, I saw the new lobby- meow, meow, meow, a triple meow transformation! The Moms are hugging the walls! All that beautiful drifttwood, some of it one-hundred years old, surrounded by a new white ceiling with recessed lighting and beautiful countertops. There is a breakfast bar across the front windows that looks out on one of the best views in the world. The lobby has "moor" character than ever.

Everyone has been working like crazy on the rooms. They are fresh with paint, new funiture and other niceties. They don't ever let me in the rooms, so I can only tell you what the guests are saying and it is ALL GOOD.

Lynette Molnar, the curley blond woman in dark glasses and driving the blue Beamer convertible, is responsible for the renovation project. When you see her be sure to congratulate her.

By the way, you will really like the new air conditioning in all rooms, whisper-quiet units that heat and cool. No more dog days of August for our guests!

Did I tell you about the bird I caught? Yes, I made a freedom run last week, and well, I did what cats do in the wild.
